The sanctioned scientific cadre strength is 81. Besides this, there are
129 technical, 65 administrative and 145 supporting staff. Most of the
scientists have been trained in world’s leading academic institutions.
Through their enormous and diverse research experience in salinity related problems backed up by vast experience of on-farm demonstrations for the successful implementation of reclamative technology, the professionals at CSSRI have developed an enviable
expertise in:

• Drainage of waterlogged saline soils
• Management of irrigation systems
• Brackish water management
• Breeding crops for salt tolerance
• Alternate land uses e.g. agro forestry
• Sewage disposal technologies
